WhatsApp inches forward on bringing Reactions to its app

WhatsApp, the Meta, is rapidly developing its app and implementing new functions. The latest beta of the app on iOS indicates that a new feature may be coming soon to work with messages like iMessage.

In their recent findings, they found that the appropriate updates have appeared in the new iOS beta. WABetaInfo shared that the WhatsApp 22.72 version on iOS adds new Reactions notifications to switch to app settings.

With this change visible to beta users, the interface can come to the platform quickly. Alternatively, the company may have unknowingly disclosed these resources and may remove them in future beta if the Reactions form is not ready yet.

In 2020, Mark Zuckerberg shared that Meta (Facebook at the time) planned to integrate Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp messages. He said the plans will not be implemented until 2022. With WhatsApp it will probably add actions to messages soon, the difference between it and Facebook / Instagram direct messages (DMs) is much smaller.

The integration between Facebook and Instagram DM has already taken place, as both platforms support the same (more) messages. WhatsApp is still a long way off to be similar to any of the two services. It remains to be seen whether the merger of the three will take place this year. It is also possible that the company is being barred from moving for personal reasons.
