South Africa registered their second victory in the new Test ICC World Test Championship around the conquest India and seven wickets in the third Test of the three-game series at home. Chasing 212 to win the Test and the series against India, the Proteas did the job medically, only needing over 63.3 to reach the target.

South Africa started with a defeat to India at Centurion, before winning a seven-wicket win in Johannesburg and advancing to the final exam in Cape Town. As for India, it was another missed opportunity to win in the Rainbow Nation.

The Proteas are ranked 5th in the ICC World Test Championship with a score of 66.66 points (a percentage of all points won). They have 24 points on their loan following a double victory against India from three Tests. India is in fourth place, with 53 points from 10 Tests and 49.07 percent.

Sri Lanka, Australia and Pakistan are currently in the top three, with West Indies and England at the bottom of the WTC table.

Keegan Petersen has promoted South Africa to victory at the ICC World Test Championship in Cape Town

South Africa’s No. 3 batsman Keegan Petersen did well as the Proteas defeated India by seven wickets in the third and best choice of matches in Cape Town. He scored 72 well in the first innings and got 82 on top of the second when South Africa managed to beat the 212 target, with seven wickets in hand.

Petersen was named Player of the Match for his successful Newlands show. He was also awarded the Player of the Series award for his 276 appearances, which included three hundred years.

India was given a great opportunity to take the exam in South Africa on Day 3 in Cape Town. After receiving the 13th inning, they were relegated until 198 in their second ininging even though Rishabh Pant was a firefighter for a hundred years. Marco Jansen got four wickets, while Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi took three each. The Proteas were the runners-up in the second straight series.
