Mr Whitty, he said: “My chief concern now is that if we have to do some exercise, whether new or future, can we still go with people?”

And he told a council meeting: “It’s easier to rely on how people responded in the first place than it is after two years of their disruptive lives.”

But he was confident that he would continue to receive help as long as people felt we were “focused on everything”.

Another 50,091 cases were reported yesterday, up 13 percent per week and the highest since October 21. There were also 160 deaths. But the number of patients in hospitals dropped to 7,633 – down from 2,000 since the beginning of November.

About one-third of Brits are motivated and 80 percent are beaten twice.
