Blackhawks Recall Ian Mitchell, Place Brett Connolly in COVID-19 Protocols

The Chicago Blackhawks moved on several times on Saturday, remembering AHL defender Ian Mitchell of Rockford IceHogs AHL and putting Brett Connolly ahead of NHL’s COVID-19 protocol.

The Blackhawks also sent Mitchell to Rockford on Friday, but he remembered the game before Saturday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks. The blue liner has appeared in eight games with the Blackhawks this season, thanks to his loan.

In 21 games with IceHogs, Mitchell has three goals and 10 assists.

Connolly has had a up-and-down season, starting the year with IceHogs and then a four-game suspension after an unintentional hit by Dallas Stars player Tanner Kero recalled earlier this season.

The shooter has 15 minutes of penalties in four NHL games this season.

The Blackhawks and Ducks will throw a puck at 7:30 pm on Saturday, with the game aired on NBC Sports Chicago.
